Enrique Iglesias & Pitbulls Joint Tour Earns $18 Million From First Leg

Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull score a slot on the weekly recap of top-grossing Hot Tours (see list below) based on box office totals reported from their co-headlining trek through North America that launched in June. With 35 concerts planned during a five-month span, the pair began their tour in the Chicago area on June 3 and will wrap on the West Coast in late October.

The first 15 shows of the Live Nation-produced tour were reported to Billboardduring the past week with sales reaching $18 million from the first four weeks on the road. At 14 arenas stateside a total of 185,933 tickets were sold. Single performances were staged in 13 of the venues, but Madison Square Garden hosted the tour for two nights -- June 30 and July 1. The New York City engagement was the final stop before the tour went on hiatus until September. Latin boy band CNCO is the special guest for most of the performances on the trek.

The first leg of the tour was supposed to wrap with a pair of shows in Montreal and Toronto on July 5 and 6. However, they were postponed until October after Iglesias fell ill.

The artists are set to resume their joint effort in Houston on Sept. 22 with 17 U.S. arenas booked for a fall run. Oakland’s Oracle Arena will host the final show on Oct. 28.

This marks the second time Iglesias and Pitbull have joined forces on the road for a tour in North American markets. A six-month run through 32 cities during the fall of 2014 and the first quarter of the following year yielded more than $40 million in sales. Attendance for that trek reached 480,000 at 38 performances promoted by AEG’s Concerts West. Latin urban artist J Balvin was the support act on the first tour.
