Jennifer Breithaupt has been named global consumer chief marketing officer at Citi where she will be responsible for crafting campaigns for the financial company's credit cards in partnership with global branding and sponsorships.
Jud Linville, CEO of Citi Global Cards, wrote the following in an internal memo: "Part of bringing innovative, creative and energizing programs to our customers is exemplifying those very same qualities as well. Jennifer has been widely recognized as a leader in her field by Billboard (Power 100 list; Most Powerful Women in Music) among others."
Breithaupt was ranked No. 29 on this year's Power 100 as she helped to make 2016 the most successful year yet for Citi's Private Pass program. This included orchestrating deals with more than 1,500 artists and offering more than 6,000-plus events to card members. Citi partnered with more than half of the top 100 tours, including runs by Lady Gaga, Madonna, Guns N' Roses and Selena Gomez among others. She also spearheaded the Citi Concert Series on Today with NBC and Live Nation Entertainment.
Last year's total entertainment spend on Citi Cards in the U.S. increased near 13 percent compared to 2015, the same year she helped bring Citi presales to 11 countries, including the United Kingdom, China, Singapore, Australia and Taiwan.
The Canandaigua, NY native joined Citi in 1999 and was previously the firm's managing director, media, advertising and global entertainment. She has held a number of executive positions with the company's U.S. cards advertising & social media division as well as in global entertainment and experiential marketing & branded entertainment.
She has helped build Citi’s entertainment program from the ground up into one of the largest consumer access platforms currently totalling some 33 million U.S. cardmembers.
