Portugal. The Mans Feel It Still Leads Top TV Commercials Chart for Second Consecutive Month

Portugal. The Man is having its best summer ever. Days after “Feel It Still” leaped 55-34 on the Billboard Hot 100 -- earning the group its first top 40 hit -- the single leads Billboard & Clio’s Top TV commercials chart, powered by Shazam, for July, for the second straight month.

While the song lead last month’s chart after being featured in Apple iPad Pro’s “On Any Given Wednesday” commercial, it’s appearance in Vitaminwater’s “Drink Outside The Lines,” which features Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, helped the song return to No. 1. The last song to lead the chart for consecutive months was Marian Hill’s “Down” on the January and February charts.

Using tagging data from Shazam, as well as sales and streaming information tracked by Nielsen Music, Billboard partners with Clio Music each month to present a chart ranking the top songs in commercials. Rankings exclude any song that has recently charted within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 or top 10 on a genre chart.

“Feel It Still,” which also reaches a new peak of No. 2 on the Hot Rock Songs(chart dated Aug. 19), leads all songs with 28,000 Shazam tags, 67,000 downloads sold and 20 million U.S. streams during the month of July, according to Nielsen Music.

Outside of the Hot Rock Songs chart, the song spent 11 weeks at No. 1 on the Adult Alternative Songs airplay chart, and earns a seventh week atop the Alternative Songs chart and second week at No. 1 on Rock Airplay chart this week (dated Aug. 19).

Just behind Portugal. The Man, Ofenbach’s “Be Mine” debuts at No. 2 after being featured in Victoria’s Secret’s “The Best” commercial.

The debut earns the Paris-based French DJ duo -- consisting of Dorian Lo and César de Rummel -- their second-ever chart hit, after reaching No. 26 on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart dated July 8. The song currently stands at No. 29 on the list.

The song earns its debut with 26,000 Shazam tags, 3,000 downloads sold and 1.2 million U.S. streams in July, according to Nielsen Music.

Finally, DMX’s former No. 60 Hot 100 hit “X Gon’ Give It To Ya,” arrives at No. 8 on the Top TV Commercials chart after its appearance in KFC’s “The Whole Chicken” ad.

The song first hit Billboard’s charts in 2003, but returned last year after being featured in the film Deadpool. The song peaked at No. 13 on the Hot Rap Songs chart dated March 5, 2016.

The song’s commercial appearance garnered 2,000 Shazam tags, 6,000 downloads sold and 6.5 million U.S. streams in July.
