Brett Eldredge re-enters the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated Aug. 26) at a new peak of No. 6, powered by the country singer's self-titled fourth studio album, which opens at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 45,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Aug. 10, according to Nielsen Music.
The Artist 100, which launched in July 2014, measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
The new No. 6 placement surpasses Eldredge's previous high of No. 9 on the Oct. 3, 2015-dated chart, which was fueled by the arrival of his second studio album, Illinois. Album sales contribute the majority of his current Artist 100 points (78 percent), followed by digital song sales (14 percent).
Atop the Artist 100, Bruno Mars inches 2-1 to become the top musical act in the U.S. for a sixth total week, surpassing Kendrick Lamar and Ed Sheeran for the sixth-most weeks spent at No. 1. Taylor Swift has logged the most time on top (31 weeks), followed by Drake (25), The Weeknd (14), Justin Bieber (11) and Adele (10).
Rounding out the Artist 100's top five, Sheeran climbs 3-2, Imagine Dragons rise 4-3, Lamar lifts 5-4 and Shawn Mendes jumps 7-5.
Among other Artist 100 moves, Glen Campbell re-enters at a new peak of No. 17, up 1,829 percent in overall measured activity, following his death on Aug. 8; Pinkre-enters at No. 64, as her new single "What About Us" debuts on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 82 following its first day of tracking; and Def Leppard returns at No. 81, as the group celebrates the 30th anniversary of its former Billboard 200 No. 1 Hysteria, which likewise re-enters the album tally at No. 79 with 8,000 units, reflecting a 6,225 percent surge.
