Fifth Harmonys Angel Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks Chart

Fifth Harmony scores its first No. 1 debut on the Billboard + Twitter Top Trackschart (dated Aug. 26) as “Angel” opens at the top. The track marks the girl group’s second leader on the list, after “Worth It,” featured Kid Ink, climbed to the summit in 2015.

Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks is a weekly ranking of the most shared and/or mentioned songs on Twitter in the U.S., ranked by the volume of shares over a seven-day period (Monday to Sunday).

“Angel” floats to its chart-topping arrival after its commercial and audio streaming release on Aug. 10, with the official music video premiere the following day. The clip, set in a nightmare where the ladies exact revenge on someone who hurt them, has blazed to 8.5 million worldwide views through Aug. 17.

“Angel,” along with prior release “Down,” featuring Gucci Mane (a No. 2 Top Tracks hit) feature on Fifth Harmony’s self-titled third album, due out Aug. 25.

Directly below 5H, JAY-Z’s “Moonlight” bows at No. 2 in the wake of the wide release of its music video on Aug. 10. The clip flips NBC’s Friends to feature an all-black cast including Issa Rae, Tiffany Hadish and Hannibal Burress, among others, as they perform a scene set in one of Friends' apartments. The video has clocked more than 2.2 million global views on YouTube. (The clip was initially exclusively released through Tidal on Aug. 4.)

The song gives the superstar MC his highest-charting hit on the Top Tracks chart among 14 entries since the chart began in May 14. He previously topped out with a pair of No. 4 peaks: “Pop Style,” credited to Drake featuring The Throne (JAY-Z and Kanye West’s collaborative moniker) and “Spiritual,” both last year.

“Moonlight” features on JAY-Z’s latest studio album, 4:44, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, extending the New York native’s run as the solo act with the most chart-toppers on the survey.

Plus, Marshmello bursts to his first top 10 hit on Top Tracks as “Silence,” featuring emerging R&B star Khalid, opens at No. 6. The cut’s debut easily surpasses Marshmello’s previous high of No. 21 courtesy of two songs -- “Alone” in 2016 and “Moving On,” this past May. The collab also nets Khalid a second visit to the region after “1-800-273-8255,” his track with Logic and Alessia Cara, reached No. 10 in May.

Just below the top 10, P!nk starts at No. 11 with “What About Us,” scoring the singer her best placement on the survey to date. The tune, the first P!nk track from a pop studio album since 2013, was released to digital retailers and streaming services on Aug. 10.

“Us” features on P!nk’s forthcoming album, Beautiful Trauma, due in September. The set marks her first studio album in nearly five years, since The Truth About Love arrived in late 2012.
