The fastest-growing market in dance music is the Asian frontier, and Live Nation won't be left out in the cold.
The California-based event company announced the launch of a new division, Live Nation Electronic Asia, its sole purpose being to explore and expand dance music's exciting and emerging presence. Live Nation selected Jim Wong, a long-established independent promoter and event organizer based in Hong Kong with a proven track record in mainland China, to act as Managing Director.
“I am excited to join Live Nation, especially considering the enormous potential this new venture creates for electronic music fans and artists,” Wong is quoted by Music Business Worldwide. “My team and I are passionate about electronic music and we are committed to contributing to the growth of this community in Asia.”
Live Nation Electronic Asia kicks off its venture with a tour from Tiesto. It starts in Shanghai in October and runs eight dates throughout the country. For more information, check Music Business Worldwide.
