Taylor Swift's retreat from social media didn't last long. After unexpectedly blanking out her online accounts on Friday (Aug. 18), Swift was back online on Monday morning (Aug. 21) with a tantalizing tease that once again sent Swifties into a frenzy.
There wasn't much to go on, but at around 11 a.m. ET, a 10-second clip showed up on Swift's Twitter feed with a silent image of a reptile tail (snake, lizard... who knows!?) moving back and forth that flickered as if it was shot on an old-school VHS tape.
The singer's Twitter avatar remained blank and her feed was still empty as of Monday morning; the same video was also up on the singer's Instagram, Tumblrand Facebook accounts -- all of which were wiped at the same time on Friday, sending fans into a frenzy of speculation that it could mean the singer was gearing up to announce her anticipated sixth album. Swift's team had no comment on the teaser at press time.
After reliably putting out a new album every two years, it has been nearly three since Swift dropped her monster 1989 album in October 2014. Her most recent effort was the single "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" with Zayn Malik for the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack.
