Lady Antebellum Cancels Houston Concert Due to Hurricane Harvey, Coldplay Still Set to Play

After Hurricane Harvey hit Houston on Wednesday (Aug. 23) it's getting worse, leaving a variety of music venues preparing for cancellations and postponements of concerts scheduled for the weekend.

On Thursday (Aug. 24) Lady Antebellum announced it was canceling Sunday's stop on their You Look Good World Tour at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas. Refunds will be made automatically at point of purchase.

Meanwhile, Coldplay's concert on Friday at NRG Stadium in Houston is still currently "scheduled to move forward," according to a statement from Live Nation released Thursday afternoon.

"We are tracking the storm and will alert attendees of any changes," the statement reads.

Lady A seems to be the only act to officially pull the plug so far. Mary J. Blige’s performance at Sugar Land’s Smart Financial Center is still scheduled as planned. “If anything changes, we will notify ticket buyers and the media of any changes in plans,” Spokesman Andrew Huang told the Houston Press.

As well, other concerts that currently plan to brave the elements include Lyle Lovett & His Large Band Thursday night at Hobby Center, The Piano Guys at Revention Music Center on Friday and Simple Plan at House of Blues on Friday.
