Coldplay, Lady Antebellum Cancel Houston Concerts Due to Hurricane Harvey

After Hurricane Harvey hit Houston on Wednesday it's getting worse, leaving a variety of music venues preparing for cancellations and postponements of concerts scheduled for the weekend.

On Thursday Lady Antebellum announced it was canceling Sunday's stop on their You Look Good World Tour at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas. Refunds will be made automatically at point of purchase.

Meanwhile, after Live Nation reps on Thursday had stated Coldplay's Friday (Aug. 25) concert at NRG Stadium in Houston was "scheduled to move forward," the next day the band released a statement announcing its cancelation as well. "We ask we can't ask anyone to put their safety at risk," the band said via Twitter.

As well, Mary J. Blige’s performance at Sugar Land’s Smart Financial Center on Friday was rescheduled to Sept. 19 and 3LAU's show at Stereo Live Houston was rescheduled to Sept. 15, while Simple Plan at the House of Blues and The Piano Guys at Revention Music Center -- both on Friday -- have been postponed for unspecified dates.
