Charlie Puths Attention Ascends to No. 1 on Pop Songs Chart

Charlie Puth's "Attention" lifts 2-1 to crown Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart (dated Sept. 9). The singer-songwriter earns his second No. 1 on the list and first as a lead artist, as his debut entry "See You Again," by Wiz Khalifa featuring Puth (who co-wrote and co-produced the song), led for four weeks in May and June 2015.

(The Pop Songs chart measures total weekly plays, as tabulated by Nielsen Music, among its reporting panel of 163 mainstream top 40 stations.)

In between his two Pop Songs leaders, Puth charted three top 15-peaking hits: "Marvin Gaye," featuring Meghan Trainor (No. 15, October 2015); "One Call Away" (No. 11, March 2016); and "We Don't Talk Anymore," featuring Selena Gomez (No. 11, September 2016).

On the all-genre airplay-, streaming- and sales-based Billboard Hot 100, "Back" has hit a No. 5 peak to date. Check back later today for highlights of the new, Sept. 9-dated Hot 100's top 10. All charts will update tomorrow (Aug. 29) on Billboard.com.
