Brand New & Bonnie Tyler Soar on Billboard Artist 100 Chart

Brand New debuts at No. 4 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated Sept. 9), as the rock group's latest studio album Science Fictionarrives at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 58,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Aug. 24, according to Nielsen Music.

The Artist 100, which launched in July 2014, measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

Album sales contribute nearly all of Brand New's Artist 100 points (99 percent), as the new set earns the group its first No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and Top Rock Albums charts.

Atop the Artist 100, Bruno Mars rises 2-1 to become the top musical act in the U.S. for a seventh total week, as his former No. 1 song "That's What I Like" holds at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. Rounding out the Artist 100's top five, Imagine Dragons climb 4-2, Ed Sheeran holds at No. 3 and, below Brand New, Kendrick Lamar is steady at No. 5.

Elsewhere on the Artist 100, Bonnie Tyler debuts at No. 91, as the singer's 1983 Hot 100 No. 1 "Total Eclipse of the Heart" soared in sales and streaming following the total lunar eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21. The classic hit debuts on the Digital Song Sales chart at No. 13 (31,000 downloads sold in the week ending Aug. 24, up 546 percent), while The Vest Best of Bonnie Tyler enters the Billboard 200 at No. 180 (4,500 units).
