Mercedes-Benz drivers will soon be able redeem a year's worth of free music streaming from TIDAL, the companies announced on Tuesday. Beginning in 2018, customers who have connected their vehicle to the Mercedes me Portal will receive a 12-month complimentary membership to TIDAL's high fidelity tier, which they'll be able to use both inside and outside their cars.
To mark the partnership, which is being described as long term, the companies are planning a launch concert on Sept. 15 during the me Convention in Frankfurt, Germany. Artists will be announced soon and convention-goers are encouraged to sign up for tickets on the event's app.
"Thanks to the cooperation with TIDAL, we are enhancing the Mercedes me lifestyle range with a unique entertainment experience," said Dr. Jens Thiemer, vp marketing at Mercedes-Benz Cars. "Our customers can stream music and videos at home or on the go virtually unlimited. We also offer exclusive opportunities to contact artists or experience them live."
When the complimentary year is up, Mercedes me customers can continue subscribing at regular rates.
Mercedes me is the car giant's personalized online portal and app that makes it easier to control certain settings for the car and schedule service visits.
