Joe Uva, the former Chairman of NBCU Hispanic Enterprises & Content, has been appointed Chairman & CEO of Hispanicize Media Group. In his new role, Uva will helm the expansion of Hispanicize, the multi-platform media company that organizes the Hispanicze marketing conference, focused on multicultural millennials.
Uva’s first order of business will be integrating the original HMG assets - the Hispanicize events, DiMe Media and Hispanic Kitchen -- into the fully acquired platforms of media and technology company Exit 7 and LatinaMoms.com, a site written by and for bilingual, multicultural Latin moms.
“Our acquisition of Exit 7 and LatinaMoms.com strengthens and expands HMG’s roster of influencers and content creators, and will help us to aggressively diversify our revenue streams through influencer events, branded content, e-commerce, analytics and insights,” said Uva in a statement.
Manny Ruiz, who founded HMG, will remain in the company as founder. "Bringing Joe into HMG is a major opportunity for us as his reputation and credibility signals an era of major expansion, investment, and evolution for the company that I founded eight years ago and will continue to play a leading role in," said Ruiz.
Uva brings a wealth of expertise to HMG. Prior to NBCU, he was president and CEO of Univision.
