Music Agent David Klein Joins UTA After Decade-Plus at CAA

United Talent Agency continues its run of new hires with the addition of veteran agent David Klein, it was announced on Wednesday. Klein, who spent the last 12 years at Creative Artists Agency, joins UTA's team in Los Angeles, where he'll help expand the agency's footprint in the music and touring space.

"Dave has many amazing qualities not least of which is his love of music," said UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer in a statement. "He is a passionate advocate and that is what artists want in today’s rapidly changing landscape. Beyond that, he has great industry relationships and will be a great teammate and colleague."

Klein joined CAA in mid-2005 and was promoted to music agent two years later. Over the years he has worked closely with OneRepublic, Tori Kelly, Lana Del Rey, Gavin DeGraw, Hailee Steinfeld, Noah Cyrus and Atlas Genius, among others. According to his 2009 entry in Billboard's 30 Under 30, Klein also had a hand in developing the music format for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and played a key role in securing the Roots as Fallon's house band.

Other recent additions to UTA's music team include Geoff "Geespin" Gamere, Mike "Mike G" Guirguis, Bex Majors, Billy Wood and Rob Walker. Last week, the agency added Joe Eshenbaugh to its comedy touring department, and it also brought on Greg Janese to lead the corporate and special events division, and Toni Wallace as head of music brand partnerships.

"I am thrilled to be joining UTA at such an exciting time for the agency," said Klein. "The undeniable enterprising spirit of everyone here is palpable, and I’m excited to start the next chapter of my career here."
