Xxxtentacion was charged last October with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman and false imprisonment, among other charges and was slated to appear for trial on Oct. 5. Now, as Pitchfork, the rapper's domestic violence trial has been postponed.
A representative for the Miami-Dade state attorney's office told the website that Xxxtentacion's lawyer is believed to be the cause of the delay and said that "the prosecutor is ready to go to trial at any point."
The spokesperson also said that while both parties suggested postponing the trial, "the defense attorney has not yet made the defense witnesses available for us to depose. The defense attorney is now indicating he’s not free for the taking of the depositions until late October or early November."
Earlier this month, Pitchfork released an excerpt of a 142-page transcript of the testimony of the reported victim where she details the alleged abuse she experienced during her relationship with the Florida rapper. X responded to the domestic abuse allegations in a string of videos saying, "I swear to God. I swear to God. Everybody that called me a domestic abuser, I’m finna domestically abuse your little sister’s pussy from the back."
