t's been four years since Wale dropped off his single "Bad" -- which peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spawned an official remix from Rihanna herself -- but in the years since its release, the 2013 single has been stuck in the middle of an ongoing royalties dispute.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a woman named Santrise Webb has filed a suit for unpaid royalties. Webb filed a complaint on Wednesday (Oct. 4) where she claimed she owns 20 percent of the copyright of the original track and 10 percent of the remix.
In the suit, Webb says that Tiara Thomas, who was featured on the original track, gave up some of her rights to The Board of Administration imprint and 40 percent of royalties from public performances. Webb says she's yet to receive any pay and is suing Thomas and TNT music as well as BMI, ASCAP, and Warner Music.
Billboard has reached out to Wale's reps for comment.
