Luke Bryan Tour Hits Homestretch With Sales of $35 Million (and Counting)

Luke Bryan scores the No. 1 ranking on Billboard’s weekly tally of top-grossing Hot Tours (see list, below) based on $26 million in concert grosses reported from his Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day tour, now in its homestretch with only a handful of dates left in 2017. This week’s report includes 28 performances during a 12-week span that began on June 23, representing more than half of the dates booked on the trek through American venues that kicked off in May.

However, since launching the run with a sold-out two-night engagement in Nashville on May 5 and 6, Bryan has grossed more than $35 million on this tour, his fifth as a major venue headliner. With concerts set primarily in outdoor amphitheaters during the summer jaunt, he has performed for more than 650,000 fans at 41 shows through Sept. 16.

Along with the 23 sheds on the itinerary, the tour has also stopped at seven arenas stateside as well as three stadiums. His stadium date on Sept. 8 at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park produced his largest box office take of the tour so far, and - with only amphitheater dates remaining - it should remain as the top grosser of the tour. The concert, attended by 35,855 fans, produced more than $2.7 million in revenue with tickets ranging from $30 to $100. Brett Eldredge, the tour’s special guest, joined the headliner for the Philly event along with opener Craig Campbell.

Bryan’s performance was the first of two concerts at the home ballpark of Major League Baseball’s Philadelphia Phillies during the second weekend of September. The venue hosted the country star on Friday night and Billy Joel on the following evening, Sept. 9.

Currently on a brief break, the Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day tour kicks up again on Oct. 21 in Salt Lake City, the first of seven shows remaining on the 2017 schedule that wraps on Nov. 4 in the San Francisco Bay Area (a few weeks before Bryan drops his new album, What Makes You Country, on Dec. 8). A handful of 2018 dates are already booked for the Georgia native including a rescheduled amphitheater date in Albuquerque in early April.

Also scheduled for 2018 is Bryan’s recently announced stint as one of three judges for ABC’s resurrection of American Idol. The long-standing reality competition show will return to television next year on ABC two years after being concluding on Fox after 15 seasons. Lionel Richie and Katy Perry will join Bryan as the celebrity judges.
