Pink Outmuscles Sam Smith on Australias Albums Chart

Post Malone bags a seventh successive week at No. 1 on Australia’s singles chart with “Rockstar” (Republic/Universal), while Pink’s Beautiful Trauma (RCA/Sony) holds off Sam Smith’s latest LP to make it four straight.

Sam Smith’s sophomore album The Thrill Of It All (Capitol/EMI) starts at the top in the U.S. and U.K. but just misses out in Australia as Pink’s seventh and latest set extends its reign and collects a third platinum certification. The British soul singer can take comfort in the fact his 2014 debut album In The Lonely Hour also opened at No. 2 and took nearly a year to reach the top. In The Lonely Hour finally hit the summit in April 2015 in its 48th week inside the top 50. The lead single from his new album, the former No. 1 “Too Good At Goodbyes,” this week improves 10-7.

Slipping 2-3 on the ARIA Albums Chart this week is Ed Sheeran’s Divide (Warner), while Australian pop hitmaker Guy Sebastian starts at No. 4 with Conscious (Sony). It’s the inaugural Australian Idol winner’s eighth studio album and ninth top ten entry on the albums survey.

Chris Brown's marathon double album Heartbreak On A Full Moon (RCA/Sony) is unmoved at No. 5 while Polaris’ The Mortal Coil (No. 6 via Resist Records/Universal), Maroon 5’s Red Pill Blues (No. 7 via Interscope/Universal) and Roy Orbison's A Love So Beautiful (No. 10 via Legacy/Sony) crack the top 10 on debut.

With Rockstar extending its streak on the ARIA Singles Chart and Camila Cabello’s double-platinum “Havana” (Epic/Sony) featuring Young Thug entering another week at No. 2, the highest debut single goes to Taylor Swift’s “Call It What You Want” (Big Machine/Universal). It's new at No. 16.

With Reputation released and likely to chart high this weekend, Swift nabs a fourth singles chart entry from the album after “Look What You Made Me Do” (No. 1), “…Ready For It?” (No. 3) and “Gorgeous" (No. 9).
