DJ Khaled Has His First Chart-Topper in Australia

It’s Official: DJ Khaled is on top of the world right now.

The Miami DJ-producer-artist bowed at the summit of Australia’s singles chart with his all-star track “I’m The One” (Epic/Sony), for his first No. 1 in that market.

“I’m The One” completes an impressive sweep of international song surveys.  As previously reported, the track, which features Justin BieberQuavo (of rap act Migos), Chance The Rapper and Lil Wayne, is the current leader on the Official U.K. Singles Chart and its launches at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated May 20).

In Australia, “I’m The One” is easily DJ Khaled’s biggest hit to-date, after topping the country’s charts for iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music. Until now, he has never cracked Australia’s top 50 as a lead artist.

“I’m The One,” lifted from Khaled’s forthcoming tenth full-length album Grateful, nudges Ed Sheeran’s record-breaking release “Shape Of You” (Asylum/Warner) into second place on the latest ARIA Singles Chart; while Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble." (Interscope/Universal), Sheeran’s “Galway Girl” and Clean Bandit's “Symphony" (featuring Zara Larsson via EastWest/Warner) complete the top five.

Justin Bieber makes a second appearance as a guest artist in the top 10 this week. The Canadian pop singer lends vocals to Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” (Republic/Universal), which rises from No. 26 to a new high of No. 10.

On the ARIA Albums ChartBliss N Eso scoop another No. 1 with Off The Grid (Liberation/Universal), the homegrown hip-hop trio’s sixth studio album. Off The Grid is the Sydney outfit’s third No. 1 on the national chart, after Running On Air (2010) and Circus In The Sky (2013).

Off The Grid ends Sheeran’s eight-week rule with Divide (Warner), which drops to No. 2, while the Guardians Of The Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 2 soundtrack (via Hollywood Records/Universal) starts at No. 3 and Damon Albarn’s virtual band Gorillaz opens at No. 4 with Humanz (Parlophone), their fifth and latest album release. Gorillaz previously topped the Albums Chart with Plastic Beach in March 2010.  Also this week, Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Damn.’ holds at No. 5.
