Liam Payne Becomes Fourth One Direction Member to Top Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks Chart

Payne's first solo single, featuring Quavo, debuts at No. 1 on the chart.

Liam Payne’s “Strip That Down,” featuring Quavo, debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks chart (dated June 3), earning the former One Direction singer his first chart-topper and chart entry on the list.

Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks is a weekly ranking of the most shared and/or mentioned songs on Twitter in the U.S., ranked by the volume of shares over a seven-day period (Monday to Sunday).

The track also helps Payne become the fourth member of One Direction to have a solo No. 1 Top Tracks single. Zayn nabbed a solo No. 1 on Top Tracks first in April 2016 with “Befour,” followed by Niall Horan in October with “This Town,” then Harry Styles last month with “Sign of the Times.” As a group, One Direction is tied for the most No. 1 hits on the chart, seven, with Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.

“Strip That Down” opens at No. 1 thanks, in large part, to its lyric video premiere on May 19. The video has earned more than 5 million global views since its release.

Meanwhile, Camila Cabello’s solo career is also off to a hot start, as her debut solo single (as a lead artist) “Crying in the Club” opens at No. 3 on Top Tracks.

The song was released May 19 along with its official music video, which has clocked 12 million global views on YouTube since its posting.

The former Fifth Harmony singer also hit No. 3 on Top Tracks in November at a co-lead artist on “Bad Things” with Machine Gun Kelly. She has also been featured on two other Top Tracks hits: Cashmere Cat’s “Love Incredible” in March and Pitbull and J Balvin’s “Hey Ma.” As a group, Fifth Harmony had one No. 1 song, “Worth It,” featuring Kid Ink, and eight top 10 hits.

“Crying in the Club” is the first single from Cabello’s forthcoming debut studio album The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving., which is due in September.

Elsewhere, Korean-pop group TWICE debuts at No. 4 with “Signal,” their second and highest-charting song on Top Tracks to date. Their other Top Tracks hit, “Knock Knock,” reaches a new peak this week at No. 17.

The nine-piece girl group arrives after the release of their fourth EP, also named Signal, on May 15. Signal also debuts at No. 3 on the World Albums chart, their third top 10 album on the chart. Their previous EP, Twicecoaster:Lane1 reached No. 3 in November.

The track’s official audio has surged to 31 million global plays on YouTube since its release.
