Jason Aldean, Darius Rucker, Charles Kelley & More to Honor Gregg Allman at 2017 CMT Music Awards

Less than two weeks after his death, CMT will honor late Allman Brothers Band singer Gregg Allman with an all-star tribute slated for the 2017 CMT Music Awards. Among those slated to take the stage to honor Allman at the June 7 show are Jason AldeanDarius Rucker and Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley, with more acts to be named soon. 

"Gregg Allman and The Allman Brothers Band helped create the bedrock foundation of modern southern music," said CMT President Brian Philips in a statement. "Over the weekend of his death, CMT’s most important artists reached out to see how we might honor Gregg at our Awards. This tribute will celebrate Gregg Allman’s soul, charisma and enduring artistry. ‘The Road Goes on Forever,’ indeed."

This year's show will air live from Nashville on Wednesday, June 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. In addition to the Allman tribute, CMT added a number of other new performers to this year's show, including Kelsea Ballerini -- who is tied for the most CMT Music Awards nominations this year -- and Little Big Town.

These performers join a star-studded roster that includes the television debut of The Chainsmokers with Florida Georgia Line's collaboration "Last Day Alive"; a duet between country legends Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood; a one-of-a-kind collabo between Earth, Wind & Fire and Lady Antebellum; as well as performances from Blake SheltonBrett EdredgeLuke BryanMiranda Lambert and Thomas Rhett. The show will be hosted by Nashville star Charles Esten.
