Clive Davis to Be Honored at Italys Ischia Fest

Record producer and music industry executive Clive Davis is no stranger to the Ischia Global Film & Music Fest. After being feted twice previously with the fest’s legend award and platinum telegatto, Davis is now set to be honored July 11 with the island’s top award, the Keys to Ischia.

Previous honorees have included Christoph Waltz, producers Mark Canton and Avi Lerner, and designer Renato Balestra.

Davis made a career as manager and producer of such icons as Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Janis Joplin, Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen, among many others. He will be in attendance for the award ceremony, as well as for the Italian premiere of the documentary Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives.

The film, which opened Tribeca this year, tracks Davis’ 50-year long career from the music of the 1960s to the rise of hip hop. Chris Perkel directed with Michael Bernstein producing and Ridley Scott executive producing.

Italian tenor and Grammy-nominee Vittorio Grigolo will also be honored at the gala at the Castiglione di Casamicciola with the fest’s global icon award. The evening will also commemorate the life of Luciano Pavarotti on the 10th anniversary of his death.

“The awards to Clive Davis and Vittorio Grigolo are in recognition of their talent and sincere friendship,” said honorary president Tony Renis. “In particular, the Keys to Ischia being given to Clive Davis is a special tribute to a wonderful ambassador of the island and our festival to the world.”

The 2017 Ischia Global Film and Music Fest takes place off the coast of Naples from July 9-16. Other honorees this year include Lily Collins and Armand Assante, with more names expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
