BMG today announced it has signed a deal to begin development of a new full-service music facility on Nashville’s Music Row. The planned state-of-the-art 120,000-square-foot building to be named "The BMG Building" will occupy a one-acre lot at 1 Music Circle South, the site of the former CMA building.
The proposed new space will consolidate the publishing and recording teams from BMG’s two existing local Nashville offices along with the newly acquired BBR Music Group, which includes Broken Bow Records, Stoney Creek Records, Red Bow Records and Wheelhouse Records.
BMG acquired BBR four months ago.
“Nashville has a history of reinventing itself, and we are very proud to bring BMG’s new artist-friendly approach to the business to the heart of Music Row” said Zach Katz, BMG U.S. president, repertoire & marketing, in a statement.
The new BMG office space will include songwriter/recording rooms, performance spaces, A/V-ready meeting spaces and conference rooms as well as a large communal outside area and terrace for live events. The music company currently has 80 employees based in Nashville.
“The importance of staying on Music Row and honoring the ideal of a supportive, tight knit and collaborative community was a priority to us all,” said Jon Loba, EVP of BBR Music Group, in a statement. “Reflective of our shared philosophy and approach, this will maximize our team’s and our partners’ connectivity.”
BMG’s country roster with the acquisition now includes: Jason Aldean, Dustin Lynch, Alabama, Thompson Square, Randy Houser, Parmalee, Joe Nichols, Craig Campbelll, Chase Bryant, Brooke Eden, Trace Adkins, Granger Smith, Kristian Bush, Runaway June and Walker McGuire. Hillary Lindsey and Busby, two of BMG's biggest songwriters, are also based in Nashville
BMG's label roster that includes Infectious, Rise Records, Sanctuary Records, Vagrant, S-Curve and The End Records. Other artists on BMG include blink-182, Fergie, Andy Grammer, Danny Gokey, PVRIS, LP, Janet Jackson, You Me At Six and Rick Astley. It’s more recent signing include 311, A Perfect Circle, AJR, Avril Lavigne, Blondie, and Nickelback. It’s catalog holdings include songs by Iron Maiden, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, and The Kinks among may others.
