Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankees Despacito Rules Hot Latin Songs Chart for 20th Week

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, earns its 20th week at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart (dated July 1), becoming only the eighth song to reach the 20-week mark in the chart’s 31-year history.

“Despacito,” which also earns its sixth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, first topped the Hot Latin Songs chart on the Feb. 18-dated list and has led the chart ever since. Enrique Iglesias’ “Bailando,”featuring Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona, holds the record for longest reign at No. 1 with 41 weeks in 2014 and 2015.

With its 20th week atop the list, “Despacito” passes another Fonsi hit, “No Me Doy Por Vencido,” which ruled the chart for 19 weeks in 2008.

Calibre 50 Rules Regional Mexican Songs: Calibre 50 earns its ninth No. 1 hit on the Regional Mexican Songs airplay chart, as “Las Ultras” jumps 2-1 with 10 million audience impressions (up 5 percent) in the week ending June 18, according to Nielsen Music.

Only a handful of acts have more No. 1s on the list: Conunto Primavera and Intocable are tied with the most (16), followed by Los Tigres del Norte (15), Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizarraga (14) and La Arrolladora Banda el Limon de Rene Camacho (11).
