David Renzer, who joined the Spirit Music Group as chairman in January 2014, has added the CEO title to his portfolio of responsibilities.
Spirit Music has a catalog that comprises 75,000 songs from such songwriters and artists as Pete Townshend, Marc Bolan, Boz Scaggs, the Marshall Tucker Band, Toto, Billy Squier, Graham Nash, Joe Walsh, Charles Mingus, Alan and Marilyn Bergman, Henry Mancini, T.Bone Burnett, Rick Nowels, C&C Music Factory, as well as contemporary writers and artists like James Bay, John Newman, Chris Stapleton, Sam Hunt, Scissor Sisters, Matt & Kim, Kodaline, and Zooey Deschanel.
During his tenure at Spirit, Renzer has expanded the company's capabilities to include the establishment of a Nashville presence; Spirit Music Latino, Spirit Production Music/Spirit Music Collective; and in the U.K. Spirit/B-Unique Music.
In his position, Renzer will work closely with the company's financial partners to strengthen its global platform, grow the catalog and expand A&R outreach.

Prior to joining Spirit Music Group, Renzer was chairman & CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group. Renzer was recently re-elected to serve on the board of the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA).
