Dierks Bentley Leads Country-Filled Hot Tours Roundup

Dierks Bentley heads up the latest recap of Hot Tours (see list below) with $13 million in ticket sales reported from his current headlining trek through North America. Of 37 cities booked during the first half of the year, shows in 29 of those markets are included in this tally. His tour’s overall attendance so far totals 288,272, beginning with the opening night in Dayton, Ohio on Jan. 19 through his performance in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on June 10.

The tour is named What the Hell and comes from Bentley’s song “What the Hell Did I Say," the fourth single from his 2016 album Black. Fellow country artists Cole Swindell and Jon Pardi are providing support for the trek.

Among these first 29 reported concerts on the What the Hell tour, the largest crowd -- 19,598 -- was logged at the XFINITY Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts. The June 3 performance at the Boston-area venue was one of the first amphitheaters scheduled on the North American run this summer. A total of 26 outdoor sheds are booked through Labor Day weekend, along with a handful of arena dates and festival appearances.

Joining Bentley on the weekly Hot Tours tally are three more treks featuring country headliners. The joint effort by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill ranks third with $5.2 million reported from five recent performances. Ticket sales from the couple’s Soul2Soul jaunt has reached $30 million so far from 30 concerts reported by the promoter, Messina Touring Group. Overall attendance totals 345,198 from the April 7 debut in New Orleans through the latest reported date in Moline, Ill. on June 17.

Sam Hunt follows at No. 4 with the first totals reported from his new headlining stint in North American cities. The 15 in a 30 tour, with Maren Morris and Chris Janson onboard as openers, began on June 1 in Cleveland and grossed just over $5 million from the first eight concerts. The tour, set primarily in amphitheaters, will continue through late September, although a few fair and festival dates are also booked.

Landing at No. 10 in the Hot Tours roundup is country veteran Brad Paisley with two recent dates from his Weekend Warrior World Tour that launched on May 18. The former CMA Entertainer of the Year is set to play a string of outdoor sheds, fairs and festivals in North American cities through September as well as concerts in Sweden and Norway in July.
