Hey Siri, it turns out that “Despacito” is not the national anthem of Bulgaria.
That didn’t stop the encyclopedic smart assistant from telling Reddit user wandreylust that Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s bilinguial banger featuring Justin Bieber otherwise.
The actual national anthem of Bulgaria is “Мила Родино” (anglicized as “Mila Rodino”) -- although searches of the Hot 100 hit have dominated the anthem in the European nation since the original Spanish version was released in January, according to Google Trends.
The Verge posited that the issue might have something to do with Apple switching Siri’s search engine from Bing to Google last month.
Apple has yet to respond to the mix-up
