Travis Scott’s personal engineer steps out from behind the curtain to offer the world his own taste of music with new single ‘Scared New World’

LOS ANGELES, CA – Jordan Lewis has made a name for himself as one of the most in demand engineers in the music recording industry. After two years as the exclusive engineer for Hip Hop icon Travis Scott, Lewis has impressed so many other superstars that he’s constantly being asked to work on projects for people such as Drake, Miguel, Kanye West, DJ Khalid, and more. But perfecting the sound of other artists has never been Lewis’ ultimate dream. He got into the business because he loved to create music and dreamed of one day being able to share his unique sound and style with the world through his own songs. And after many years of success behind the scenes, one of music’s best artists is ready to step out from behind the curtain and show the world what he’s got.
His new single “Scared New World” is the first of many new songs to come. Though written before the Covid pandemic, it’s a song that has a timely message that encourages people to keep a healthy perspective when looking toward the future and the new world that will come from so many changes in 2020. The song was written with legendary producer Brendan O’Brien who is known for his work alongside Rage Against the Machine, AC/DC, Pearl Jam, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and more. It was produced by Jordan Ware who has been a producer for many of Justin Bieber’s songs. Alongside those collaborations, Lewis is able to showcase his own signature style, which uses a blend of musical influences to fuse together multiple genres into a sound that can’t quite be defined.

“That’s how all my music is,” he said. “It’s the kind of sound that makes people say, ‘What is this? I don’t know what it is, but I like it!’ But that’s kind of how we are in 2020 – no one cares what genre anything is anymore as long as it sounds good. I don’t ever have a set sound or style in mind when I start to write a song. When I’m writing, I’m not always totally sure of what I’m writing about, and I don’t realize what I’m writing about until I’m done. I try not to get in the way of that and just let that organic process work. For this song in particular, I wrote it when I was feeling super depressed and this new world I was going into seemed scary to me. I didn’t feel totally comfortable with everything that was happening to me and when I started to put those feelings to music, this is what came out.”

The end result is an upbeat single that is impossible to ignore. Once listeners get into the beat, their heads will bop and their toes will tap and the sounds that Lewis has mixed together will take them on a journey that will have them begging for more. And Lewis said more music is yet to come. He has another single, “Morning Pills,” that’s also available across all streaming platforms. He’s hard at work on more singles for early 2021. More than that, however, he said he recognizes the importance of being a good entertainer and offering the world every form of art he has at his fingertips. And as such, he’s created some visually captivating music videos that are drawing rave reviews from industry insiders and fans alike. Both videos for “Morning Pills” and “Scared New World” are currently featured on his YouTube channel.
