Ecclesiastes 3:1 says that everything has a proper time and season. Supr Badd understands that. Some seasons involve tears and weeping. Some involve laughter and revelry. Sometimes, like in church, you need to be serious. You wear your serious clothes. Put on a serious expression. You’re listening to a serious sermon, praying a serious prayer. Then, all of a sudden, you notice it. The young lady in the pew in front of you with the narrow hips leading down to a nice, shapely, round…
Praise the Lord!
Supr Badd’s new track “Church Booty'' brings lively repartee into the grave time we’ve all lived in. “All my music comes from an honest place,” said Supr Badd. “I might change names to protect the innocent - and the guilty,” he laughed. “But I write about real experiences with real people.” Supr Badd recalled his own church experiences with family members. “My mother is a minister,” he said. “My grandfather was as well. People are people. Sometimes when they get into that church environment, they forget that.”
As the owner of Artist Mill International, Supr Badd occupies multiple roles. Artist Mill houses a record label, recording studio, and much more. The idea for “Church Booty'' came to Supr Badd during a commute to Artist Mill. “I was driving to the studio one day,” he said. “That background of the ‘Praise the Lord’ just kept coming into my head.” Supr Badd continued. “When I got to the studio I pulled in one of my engineers and we tapped out that song. The whole thing took about 2 hours.”
The name Supr Badd originated in the artist’s youth. “The nickname actually came from my street basketball career,” Supr Badd remembered. He adapted the “Supr Badd” moniker into a recording artist persona and began releasing music in 2014. “I dabbled a little back then,” Supr Badd said. “I recorded one mixtape, but it was basically just for me. I shared it with a couple of people I’m close with.” Supr Bass redoubled his efforts, honing his songwriting skills.
Supr Badd recorded and released “Church Booty'' via Artist Mill Records. Artist Mill also houses a video production studio, and an elite team to boot. Supr Badd plans to write, direct, film, and edit a music video for “Church Booty.” He has a slew of resources at his disposal, all within one building. “I want to say what I want to say,” said Supr Badd. “The way I want to say it.”
Fans of “Church Booty'' can look forward to a variety of flavors in Supr Badd’s future releases. “I'm very versatile, stylewise,” said Supr Badd. “I don't want to pigeonhole myself. There's a lot more music available. In the meantime, let's make ‘Church Booty’ a Billboard hit! Stay tuned.”
