MUMBAI, INDIA - An up-and-comer in the Hip Hop and R&B scene, Pebble Boy is one of the first India-based artists in the world to really focus on the American sound and audience. His upcoming release of a debut EP follows the feelings of love and heartbreak in five iconic tracks.
Loving music since he was just a kid, Pebble Boy has been influenced by some of the greatest artists of American Classic Rock. This interest paired with his familial and social ties to the United States has inspired him to take to the American style and English-speaking audience that he now has.
While inspired by Rock, it was Rap that seemed to draw Pebble Boy in as a writer. “I love Rock music,” he said. “But it’s like Rap just wants to come out of me.”
Pebble Boy puts his whole heart into creating music, with lyricism that truly makes you think about love and life. “There is both a peppy and dark feel to these songs,” Pebble Boy explained. The EP has something that everyone can connect to and is filled with detail.
With tracks like “Hail Mary Lounge”, which follows Pebble Boy as he steals another man’s girl, the EP shows everything from love and loss, high energy and heartbreak. “The lyricism I put into this project is really insane,” he said.
When listening to each of the songs, Pebble Boy wants his audience to be able to infer their own meanings. Music is something that we all experience on our own terms and he hopes that people are able to connect to these tracks in meaningful ways, similar to the ways he has connected to them himself.
As the summer and the rest of his career go on, Pebble Boy is looking forward to his future releases and sharing his good fortune with those around him. “I want to do good things in my life,” he explained. “Like they say, what goes around, comes around.”
He is looking forward to making more music and putting more words out into the world. Starting with this debut, Pebble Boy is going to be taking his career one day at a time and will be continuing to grow and hone his craft.
