Kali Uchis Plots Arena Tour in Support of ‘Sincerely’

Kali Uchis has announced her first North American arena tour to support the release of her fifth studio album, “Sincerely.”

The Grammy award-winning singer will begin her first jaunt as a headliner in arenas on Aug. 14 for an opening night in Portland, Ore. at the Moda Center. She will take her atmospheric sound to 24 cities including Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Toronto, and Chicago, before wrapping up on Sept. 25 at Ball Arena in Denver, Colo.

Uchis announced the tour on social media with a vintage-inspired video trailer of her strutting on a treadmill — on heels, of course.

Her most intimate and vulnerable body of work to date, “Sincerely,” was released on May 9 and features 14 songs that range from doo-wop to R&B and dream pop. Written and executive-produced by Uchis, the project serves as the follow-up to her Grammy and Latin Grammy-nominated Spanish-language set, “Orquídeas.”

“My idea of success is to be able to say that I’m doing something no one else is doing and nobody else can do,” Uchis told Variety about her latest effort, and her 12-year career journey. “And I love to be able to inspire other artists who are also bicultural to express themselves freely, without feeling the need to over-explain themselves.”

As a part of the “Sincerely” tour, Uchis will perform as headlining artist for the first time at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, and Madison Square Garden in New York City. Joining Uchis on all dates are Thee Sacred Souls, an 11-piece band from San Diego.

Tickets will be available starting with various presales beginning May 14 at 10 a.m. local time. Additional pre-sales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on-sale on May 16 at 10 a.m. local time on KaliUchis.com.
