Visionary Music Group Bolsters Management Division With New Partnership With Mutual Friends

Visionary Music Group, the label and management company that is home to Grammy-nominated rapper Logic, among others, announced a new partnership today with management company Mutual Friends that will expand its roster within that division. Mutual Friends, founded by Jesse Coren, boasts artists such as Quinn XCIIChelsea CutlerJeremy Zucker and ayokay.

In addition to Logic, VMG works with singer/songwriter and producer Jon Bellionas well as the producer 6ix, who has worked extensively with Logic over the past several years and co-produced the MC’s "1-800-273-8255," featuring Khalid and Alessia Cara, which earned song of the year and best music video nominations at the 2018 Grammys in January. As part of the deal, MF’s four clients will operate under the VMG umbrella moving forward.

"Jesse is one of the brightest and most forward thinking young managers in the business," said Chris Zarou, who founded VMG in 2010 and currently serves as its CEO, in a statement. "His passion and like-minded approach to artist development was a perfect partnership for myself and Visionary Music Group. I am beyond excited to be apart of Quinn XCII, Chelsea Cutler, Jeremy Zucker, and ayokay’s journey and next steps."

Logic, whose last two releases via Visionary / Def Jam, Everybody and Bobby Tarantino II, both debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, is coming off the most successful year of his career, with his "1-800-273-8255" single reaching as high as No. 3 on the Hot 100 last year. He’ll be hitting the road with support from Kyleand NF this summer. And Bellion, long behind the scenes as a songwriter for the likes of Eminem ("The Monster" feat. Rihanna) and Jason Derulo ("Trumpets"), broke through on his own in 2016 with his single "All Time Low," released through VMG/Capitol, which reached No. 16 on the Hot 100.

Meanwhile, Detroit-based Quinn XCII (that would be the number 92 in Roman numerals) released his latest album, The Story Of Us, this past February via Columbia Records, and has a busy summer on the horizon with festival dates at Lollapalooza, Gov Ball and Outside Lands, among others. Rising singer/songwriters Cutler and Zucker and fellow Columbia signee ayokay round out the additions to VMG’s roster.

"I’m extremely excited to begin my partnership with Visionary Music Group. I’ve always admired their unique and innovative approach to management and their understanding of today’s music business," Coren said in a statement. "Our shared vision and commitment to true artist development makes for the perfect fit. I look forward to working with such a dynamic team who will challenge me on a daily basis, and to continuing the growth of our incredible artists together.”
