Eric Church's younger brother, Brandon Church, died last week, the country star wrote on his fan page Monday night (July 2). He was 36.
"It is with great sadness to confirm that Eric's brother, Brandon, passed away on Friday evening," Church wrote on the page, the Tennessean reports. "In lieu of flowers we are encouraging everyone to donate to a Scholarship Memorial Fund created on Brandon's behalf. You can leave a message that will go via email directly to Ken and Rita."
Eric and Brandon's father Ken told TMZ that Brandon suffered “multiple seizures” before his death at his home in Granite Falls, N.C.
The cause of Brandon death was not immediately known as of publication. Foul play is not suspected, according to Granite Falls Police Department Chief Chris Jenkins.
Eric, 41, and Brandon co-wrote songs together, including “How ‘Bout You” from Church’s 2006 debut, Sinners Like Me, and “Without You Here” from 2009's Carolina.
