Folk rock band, The Lumineers, have signed with Activist Artists Management, Billboard has learned. Representatives from Activist and the band have confirmed that the “Ho Hey” singers will be managed by Bernie Cahill after a summer of seeking new management.
The in-demand band, which has sold out performances at Madison Square Garden in New York and the Hollywood Bowl in California, is believed to have been courted by several firms before landing with Activist. Cahill launched Activist in April of this year along with his partners Greg Suess and Matt Maher. Their current roster includes Dead & Company, Dwight Yoakam, Bob Weir and Clare Bowen, among others.
The Lumineers have been in search of new management since they parted ways with Seattle nightlife entrepreneur David Meinert. Throughout the course of the year, Meinert has been accused by eleven women of sexual assault, rape and sexual misconduct between 2011-2015.
A standout in the folk rock scene, The Lumineers have achieved high-ranking albums and singles on the Billboard charts. Their debut hit single “Ho Hey” reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Denver-based trio also had three No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Alternative Songs airplay chat. The group’s sophomore album, Cleopatra, became The Lumineers' first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in April 2016. The group's self-titled breakthrough LP hit No. 2 in 2013. The sets led the Top Rock Albums chart for two weeks and one week, respectively.
In 2017, the band embarked on an arena tour throughout North America in support of their second album before heading out for shows in Japan, Australia and Tokyo. Following the Cleopatra world tour, The Lumineers opened several dates for U2 in May and June of 2017.
