Atlantic Records and popular hip-hop podcast and video blog personality Adam "Adam22" Grandmaison have "parted ways," a spokesperson for the record label tells Billboard. The Daily Beast first reported the news.
In March, Grandmaison announced plans to launch an imprint with Atlantic called No Jumper Records, intending to build off the popularity he has cultivated as a tastemaker in the SoundCloud rap scene with ties to many of the genre's top acts. But, in light of the news, soon thereafter reports of sexual misconduct surfaced.
In an article published by Pitchfork, two anonymous women accused Grandmaison of sexual assault and other misconduct. And, more recently, The Daily Beast further detailed accusations against Grandmaison, along with another woman's claims he gave her Xanax when she was inebriated, then had sex with her and videotaped it without her consent. Grandmaison has denied any wrongdoing.
When the first reports came out in March, Atlantic Records told Pitchfork in a statement, "We take any allegations of this nature very seriously and we are looking into them."
Grandmaison could not be reached for comment.
