Dear Evan Hansen star Ben Platt has selected Adam Mersel, best known for overseeing Bebe Rexha’s career, as his music manager. Heather Reynolds at One Entertainment continues to manage Platt’s film and TV endeavors.
The move comes as the Tony and Grammy winner prepares to release his Atlantic Records debut latter this year. “The album at Atlantic is definitely pop and it’s all original music that I’m writing and co-writing with some people who I’ve met that I really love very much,” Platt told Billboard in February.
In other management news, Shaggy is now managed by Martin Kierszenbaum, who also manages such acts as Sting, with whom the Jamaican rapper recorded a collaborative album, 44/876 earlier this year, and Warner Bros. act The Last Bandoleros.
“After A&R’ing Shaggy, producing and writing music with him as well as being dear friends for over 15 years, it’s an honor to be managing him,” Kierszenbaum says. “I’m grateful to him for his continued faith and friendship and look forward to this new chapter together.” Shaggy was formerly managed by Compound Entertainment.
