Anuel AA Gushes Over Billie Eilish, Performs No Llores Mujer on James Corden Show: Watch

As he continues to make the rounds with his sophomore album EmmanuelAnuel AA visits The Late Late Show with James Corden (from his garage) to talk all about his successful set.

“The album is doing great,” he told Corden via a virtual interview. “I collaborated with Lil WayneBad BunnyTego Calderon, he’s a big legend in the Spanish industry. With Enrique IglesiasDaddy Yankee, Karol, a lot of my friends.”

For the Puerto Rican trap star, teaming up with Lil Wayne was a dream come true. “I grew up listening to him. He was one of my heroes, my idols,” he admits. His go-to collaboration at the moment, however, would be with Billie Eilish. “I really like Billie Eilish’s music. It’s really different. My music ain’t like hers but I like her music, her vibe. She’s the only one right now that I’d like to work with.”

Before performing “No Llores Mujer,” the opening track on Emmanuel and also his rendition of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry,” Anuel opened up about the meaning behind this single.

“When I’m stressed out I always listen to his [Marley’s] music. I think it’s very spiritual and it calms my soul and brings me peace,” Anuel said. “‘No Woman No Cry’ is my favorite song of all his songs and it’s a song that I always dreamt about singing. I never thought his family was going to approve.”

In his Spanish-language version, Anuel details his love story with Karol G and the day he proposed marriage to her in Colombia. His father was part of the musical production and Blink 182’s Travis Barker formed part of the beat too. “It’s something legendary and out of my comfort zone. I wanted to show people that I can do something besides street music.”
