Skip Paige is retiring from his position as chief operating officer of Goldenvoice, he told his colleagues Friday.
Citing a desire to spend more time with family, Paige told colleagues his last day would be this Wednesday.
Paige grew up in Southern California and has been in the music business for more than 30 years. He began promoting bands in the 1980s at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California, including Social Distortion and Oingo Boingo.
In 1998, Paige joined Goldenvoice working alongside college friend and Goldenvoice president Paul Tollett. Since, he has been involved in the launch of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 1999, Stagecoach Festival in 2007 and Desert Trip in 2016.
In his role as chief operations officer at Goldenvoice, he has overseen the day to day business operations of Goldenvoice festivals and the long-term involvement of Goldenvoice in the Coachella Valley, including included Coachella's 2012 expansion into a two-weekend event. The festival grossed a record $114 million in 2017, marking the first time a reoccurring festival franchise has crossed the $100 million mark for Billboard Boxscore.
