THE BRONX, NY – Shaz Delicious is a city girl from The Bronx whose sparky, fun, and smooth vocal style has been creating quite a buzz all along the East Coast. New York industry insiders are raving about this fast-rising young and talented artist. Her penchant for fun melodies set against hard-hitting drums creates a sound that captivates listeners. Hers is a sound that no one can resist, and when that’s paired with her energetic and fun personality, nothing will be able to stand in her way.
That signature style is put on full display with her latest single, “Late Night.” Written as an expression of how a woman feels about a guy, it’s a song ready-made for a chill, late-night vibe. But like all of her music, the song also brings an energy and excitement that cannot be denied. It’s easy to see how Shaz stands out from the crowd and exhibits a sound unlike any other artist today. This is even more true in the midst of a New York music scene that seems to be embracing the Drill sound. Shaz, by contract, shies away from that and does more rap and singing, albeit in a fun and exciting way.
“I don’t sound like any other female artist today, especially not any from New York,” she said. “I want to help people express how they feel. I want to speak for all the people. I know I’m not the only one going through things. Everybody goes through similar things, and my music is the kind of music that says, ‘I know you’ve been through heartbreak before. I know you’ve met that one girl, or the guy who gave you butterflies. So let’s remember those experiences together.’”
Shaz said she first got her start in music when she was in middle school. Becoming a professional recording artist was never something she intended to do, but she met a guy in middle school who loved to create music and invited her to join in on the production projects he would work on after school. The two became fast friends and developed a unique sound and style well into their high school years. But then Shaz’s friend was an unfortunate victim of a drive-by shooting that was meant for someone else. That tragedy rocked her world, and out of that experience, she wrote a song that eventually resonated with many others in the city. That was about four years ago, and she hasn’t looked back yet. On August 28, 2021, Shaz released her hit single “B.M.U.”
Following “Late Night,” Shaz said she has a couple of other projects she’s currently working on. Her next release will be a single called “Suavecito,” followed quickly by the single “Obvious” before the end of the year. Shaz will be working on a project with a fusion of Rock and Drill that she hopes to release by 2022.
