The Wildcat family is growing, and Zac Efron couldn’t be happier.

In an interview with Access Hollywood at the premiere of his new film A Family Affair on Thursday night, the actor gushed about his High School Musical co-stars Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens being pregnant at the same time.

“Oh they’re going to be the best moms ever,” he told the outlet on the carpet, smiling. “Those girls, are you kidding me? Oh my gosh.”

Both actresses announced their pregnancies in March, with Hudgens — who won The Masked Singer last month as seasonlong favorite Goldfish — debuting her baby bump on the 2024 Oscars red carpet. The Spring Breakers star is expecting her first child with husband Cole Tucker, who plays baseball for the Los Angeles Angels, and recently shared a date-night selfie showing off her belly.

Just a couple of weeks later, Tisdale revealed on Instagram that she and husband Christopher French are awaiting their second baby. The pair first became parents in March 21, when they welcomed their daughter Jupiter.

Efron joins a whole generation of High School Musical fans in being excited for the ladies’ new additions. When Tisdale shared her news, well-wishers flooded her post with comments about the timing. “Gabriella and Sharpay having babies together I love this,” one person wrote at the time, referencing their HSM characters, while another fan added, “The next generation of Wildcats is coming!!!”
