Midas Act Ashleigh & Pudsey won the first semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent, wowing both the Judges and the audience with their spectacular routine. Seventeen year old Ashleigh Butler was given Pudsey when she was 11 and they have a remarkable bond.
She says Pudsey is her best friend and they have been performing in shows for years. Ashleigh is studying for her AS Levels and lives with her family and their six dogs (including Pudsey) in Northamptonshire. Ashleigh has said that their final routine will be even better than their semi-final – with lots of surprises in store.
We caught up with the dynamic duo ahead of tonight's Final.
Q: How did it feel when your name was called out and you knew you were through to the final?
A: I felt like the happiest person in the world! I was unbelievably proud of Pudsey and what we had achieved. He didn't put a paw wrong in his routine and he just loved performing on the stage.
Q: What has the response been like from members of the public, family, friends and fellow contestants?
A: Pudsey and I are overwhelmed by the support we have received from everyone. We've had people coming up to us in the street asking for our autographs! Also all of the contestants have been supportive to each other - it's like one big Britain’s Got Talent family!
Q: What would winning Britain's Got Talent mean to you? How do you think it would change your life?
A: Winning Britain’s Got Talent would be a dream come true! Pudsey has been incredible through this whole experience and I wouldn't want to share it with anyone else. Pudsey is my life and by winning BGT I would feel all of our hard work would have paid off.
Q: What have you got planned for the final?
A: We have something planned which will hopefully blow everyone away! Pudsey will be doing something which has never been done by a dog on Britain’s Got Talent before - hopefully!! With a dog you just never know what is going to happen, and I have to place my trust in Pudsey one hundred percent.
Q: There's been lots of support on Twitter. What has been your favourite tweet?
A: I did hear that Olly Murs tweeted about me and Pudsey! Also I saw an article that both Justin Bieber and 50 Cent have watched me and Pudsey on YouTube! We are both totally flattered by the response we have received.
Good luck for the final and beyond Ashleigh & Pudsey.
