Ed Sheeran Celebrates Being Crowned Best-Dressed by Reminiscing on Some of His Worst Outfits

Ed Sheeran has accomplished more than most people could ever dream of, from selling out stadiums to winning Grammys and earning four No. 1 albums over the course of his career. But recently, he achieved something that even he probably thought he’d never do: make a best-dressed list.

On Friday (April 25), the pop star celebrated having his fashion sense celebrated for one of the first times ever — thanks to a baby pink suit he wore to the TIME100 Gala in New York City the night prior — by sharing a photo of the winning ‘fit and writing on Instagram, “Got put on the best dressed list yesterday for the @time gala.”

“Swipe right to see all the times in the last 15 years I’ve been voted worst dressed,” he continued, including five other pictures from events in years past where his looks weren’t exactly high fashion.

In one, a much younger Sheeran sports a bright green zip-up hoodie and baggy jeans on a red carpet. In another, he layers a black skull tee over a lime long-sleeve.

The “Photograph” singer didn’t specify which best-dressed list he was apparently featured on, but it’s clear from the photos that he’s leveled up fashion-wise since the beginning of his 15-year career — a decade and a half of songwriting and touring that was celebrated at the gala, which honored his recent placement on TIME‘s 100 most influential people of 2025 list. Fellow honorees included Snoop Dogg and BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ.

In light of the honor, Sheeran — who released new single “Azizam” April 4 in ahead of upcoming album Play — also appeared on the cover of TIME. For the issue, Chris Hemsworth wrote in tribute to the star, “His songs, his voice, his words — they belong to all of us. Whether you’re at home with your headphones on, driving through the countryside, or in a stadium packed with 70,000 people singing at the top of their lungs, his music feels personal. He has an instinct for storytelling that makes you feel like he wrote that song just for you, no matter where you’re from or what you’ve been through.”
