Columbia Records president of A&R Mark Williams is exiting the company following the arrival of new chairman and CEO Ron Perry, sources confirm to Billboard.
The Los Angeles-based Williams was upped to president in 2015 from EVP, having been with the label since 2010. Among the artists he has worked with during his tenure are Leon Bridges, Pharrell Williams, Jack White, Odd Future and Nine Inch Nails, with whom he worked previously while at Interscope.
While at Interscope, Williams signed M.I.A. and The Hives, among other acts.
Perry, formerly president of Songs Music Publishing, started at Columbia Jan. 2. He took over for Rob Stringer, who had continued doing the job after being elevated to CEO of Sony Music Entertainment in April, 2017.
Variety first reported the news. Williams declined to comment, as did a Columbia spokesperson.
