Hootie and the Blowfish To Reunite For One Night With Jason Aldean at the Atlanta Braves Stadium

Jason Aldean is about to anoint the new Atlanta Braves stadium in a big way. The reigning Country Music Awards entertainer of the year announced Wednesday (March 14) that he’d be joined by Hootie and the Blowfish on July 21st on his Atlanta tour stop, as part of a one-night-only reunion for the band.

Since former Hootie frontman Darius Rucker has been thriving in his own country music solo career, it’s been quite some time since he’s reunited with the rest of the band, who found their fame in the 90’s with a string of soft rock hits, including “Only Wanna Be With You.” While Rucker performs some of his former group's biggest hits on his own tours, live performances from the band in full are few and far between.

The group's performance will be part of Jason Aldean’s High Neon Tour, which will continue across the U.S. all the way through September. As for the decision to play in the Braves’ stadium, Georgia native (and Braves fanatic) Aldean said it would be a symbolic career highlight.

"Out of all the shows we’ve played, I know this show is going to be a career defining moment,” Aldean said at a press conference. “We haven’t had a chance to play Atlanta in a couple years in anticipation of this show and I know this night is going to mean a lot to my family and me. I’ve followed the Braves my whole life….was even at the ’95 game when they clinched the World Series…so this is a huge full circle moment for me."

The tour comes with Aldean's upcoming album Rearview Town, which is set to drop April 13. To see Aldean live (and Hootie and the Blowfish, if you're going to Atlanta), check out the rest of the tour dates and tickets at jasonaldean.com/tour.
