Jess Glynne Scores TikTok UK Song of the Year With Hold My Hand

Jess Glynne Scores TikTok UK Song of the Year With Hold My Hand

Jess Glynne has earned the title of the UK’s TikTok song of the year thanks to the “nothing beats a Jet2holiday” trend.

Ten years after the track first arrived, the 2015 hit found a second life as TikTok users began pairing the audio from the holiday commercial with clips of their travel mishaps.

Jess, who is thirty six, told BBC Newsbeat, “It is the most incredible feeling knowing that a decade later, a song that means so much to me and was such a huge part of my early journey in music and in proving myself as a solo artist, can still be celebrated over and over again throughout this year. It has been unbelievable.”

The song also plays on Jet2 flights, and Jess has even heard it while on board.

She said, “I was a little nervous, I was sitting right at the front next to my mum. It was actually really funny.”

According to TikTok, the Hold My Hand audio has been viewed more than eighty billion times.

Jess added, “Seeing the way the song has reached the younger generation and how so many of them heard it for the first time is just a wonderful thing to watch.”

Through TikTok, older tracks by artists such as Rihanna with Breakin’ Dishes, Radiohead with Let Down, and Black Eyed Peas with Rock That Body have found new listeners as well.

Pretty Little Baby by the late Connie Francis was named TikTok’s global song of the year.

The playful doo wop single went viral in 2025 after being used in nostalgic TikTok edits featuring vintage imagery and celebrity collections. It even entered Spotify’s charts for the first time, showing how TikTok can revive even long forgotten treasures.
