Madonna Unveils Confessions II, Her New Album

Madonna Unveils Confessions II, Her New Album

Madonna once again proves that reinvention is one of her greatest strengths with the release of her new album, Confessions II. Arriving on Friday, July 3, the record serves as the long awaited sequel to her acclaimed 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor, the era that saw the Queen of Pop join forces with producer Stuart Price to create a sound built around disco, electronic music, synth pop, and dance music.

Once again produced by Price, the 16 track collection revisits many of those signature influences while delivering a fresh and immersive experience. Confessions II embraces rich electronic production, presenting the dance floor as a place of connection and self discovery where music and movement become deeply personal. The album marks Madonna’s 15th studio release since her 1983 debut and includes the previously released singles “I Feel So Free,” “Love Sensation,” and “Bring Your Love,” the latter featuring Sabrina Carpenter, who welcomed Madonna onstage during her headlining Coachella performance in April.

In addition to Carpenter, the album features collaborations with Belgian artist Stromae on “My Sins Are My Savior,” Dutch DJ Martin Garrix on “Bizarre,” and Colombian star Feid on “Read My Lips.” Feid continues his strong presence in dance music this year following collaborations with Skrillex and John Summit. Madonna also teams up with her daughter, Lola Leon, on “The Test,” a deeply personal song that reflects on their mother daughter relationship through lyrics including, “Sometimes I think you’d wish I’d go away but my shadow stays and it’s OK to be yourself.” The emotional honesty of the track echoes the intimate spirit of Confessions on a Dance Floor, which was originally released when Leon was just nine years old.

Taken as a whole, Confessions II stands out as a captivating addition to Madonna’s catalog. The album blends contemporary club music with influences from dance music’s past, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and forward looking without simply recreating what came before.
