David Zedeck Leaves Live Nation for UTA

David Zedeck is leaving Live Nation after five years to run United Talent Agency's music department, Billboard has confirmed.

The former CAA agent and Live Nation executive VP and president of Global Talent and Artist Development was recruited by UTA boss Jeremy Zimmer to run the agency's music department; his contract with Live Nation was set to expire at the end of the year. At CAA, Zedeck represented Justin TimberlakeJonas BrothersSelena GomezJustin BieberOne DirectionCiara and Il Divo, and the move to UTA has many agencies circling the wagons, worried that their agents or artists could be poached by the music veteran.

"Zedeck is a great agent hunter," one source familiar with the hiring tells Billboard.

The move is the latest high-profile hire for UTA and Zimmernan, who has been growing his agency business following its 2015 purchase of The Agency Group. Zimmer hired away two top Nashville agents in the last year -- Greg Janese and Curt Motley from Paradigm -- and hired 12-year CAA veteran David Kline in April.
