Swedish DJ and producer Alesso has signed with Shots Studios for worldwide management representation.
At 26, the dance music star has tallied several major accomplishments including a Grammy nomination, multiple platinum records and approximately one billion Spotify streams led by his hit single, "Heroes (We Could Be)," which peaked at No. 31 on the Hot 100.
He now joins the digital management and production company's budding roster of music clients which also includes Anitta and Poo Bear, both of whom he is working on new music with.
Alesso tells Billboard, "We’re building something big here. John and Sam [Shahidi] have put together an amazing team. After meeting with them and learning more about the Shots vision, joining them was a no-brainer."
Alesso was previously managed by ATM Artists' Amy Thomson, the longtime Swedish House Mafia manager who currently reps Axwell & Ingrosso among others. Thomson says the parting was amicable and the two remain friends.
'After two amazing management terms with Alesso from when Sebastian Ingrosso signed him 7 years ago, it was time for us to both focus on other things and we did not renew our agreement," Thomson tells Billboard. "But [I] remain one of his biggest fans."
Shots Studios CEO John Shahidi believes Alesso "fits in perfectly" with the culture of Shots, which counts Justin Bieber among its investors and rose to prominence representing YouTube stars like Lele Pons, Rudy Mancuso and Hannah Stocking.
"Whether he’s in the studio or on stage, it's clear that he deeply cares for his craft and that resonates with people," says Shahidi. "We’ve got some really great things in the works.”
Sam Shahidi, Shots Studios' co-founder and chief creative officer, adds, "I've had the chance to watch Alesso perform and get to know him on a personal level as well. Alesso, the artist, is incredibly talented and Alesso, the person, is even better. I couldn't be more excited to have the chance to work with him."
