Post Malones Rockstar Extends Streak Atop Australias Singles Chart

Post Malone rocks out for a third straight week at No. 1 on Australia’s singles chart with “Rockstar” (Republic/Universal), featuring 21 Savage, while the 13th installment of Triple J's Like A Version (ABC/UMA) series blasts to the top of the national albums survey.

On this week’s ARIA Singles Chart, “Rockstar” holds off Camila Cabello’s fast-rising “Havana” (Epic/Sony), which rises 8-2, a new peak, overtaking Fifth Harmony’s ‘Work From Home’ (No. 3 back in April 2016) as the pop singer’s highest ARIA Singles Chart position.  Macklemore’s double-platinum certified “Glorious” (ADA/Warner) featuring Skylar Grey slips 2-3 as the U.S. rapper grabs another top 10 with “Good Old Days” featuring Kesha, which climbs 16-10.

Also this week, Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” (Atlantic/Warner) is on a positive trajectory, flying 18-4 for a new high in its 13th week on the survey while Sam Smith’s comeback single “Too Good At Goodbyes” (Capitol/EMI) is unchanged at No. 5.

Portugal. The Man can be forgiven for enjoying some self-praise right now. The American rock outfit cracks the top 10 for the first time with “Feel It Still” (Atlantic/Warner) which sneaks in at No. 9 on a jump of six spots in its seventh week.

In a slow cycle for new releases, it’s the resident chart king Post Malone who also owns the top new entry as “I Fall Apart” bows at No. 26 while “Congratulations” is down 44-39. Both tracks appear on Post Malone’s debut Stoney which, in its eighth week, rises 17-10 for a new peak.

On the ARIA Albums Chart, the Triple J’s latest Like A Version various artists covers album becomes the fifth LAV release in a row to debut at the top spot. The latest album includes the likes of DMA’s covering CherTash Sultana covering MGMT, and Polish Club covering FlumeAmy Shark covering Silverchair and more.

A year after The Secret Daughter (Songs From The TV Series) hit the top, Jessica Mauboy returns with The Secret Daughter Season Two, an album that includes the indigenous pop singer’s original “Fallin'” and covers of tracks made famous by the likes of The ChurchCrowded HousePaul KellyAretha Franklin and others. The Sony Music release is new at No. 2.

In its 32nd week on the chart Ed Sheeran’s five-time platinumDivide (Warner) holds at No. 3, veteran shock-rocker Marilyn Manson collects a sixth top ten appearance with Heaven Upside Down (Caroline/Universal), his 10th studio set which opens at No. 4, while Shania Twain’s comeback LP Now (Mercury/Universal) dips 1-5.

Former Oasis and Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher enjoys a No. 9 debut with As You Were (Warner), his solo debut which currently leads the U.K. albums tally. Gallagher’s last stint inside Australia's top 10 was when Oasis’ final studio set Dig Out Your Soul made it to No. 5 in October 2008.
