Phoebe Bridgers Recreates the Oval Office Desk for Apocalyptic Tiny Desk (Home) Concert

Cue "Hail to the Chief"! Phoebe Bridgers turned the White House's Oval Office into her Tiny Desk (Home) Concert venue on Thursday (Sept. 10).

Performing alongside her bandmates Marshall Vore on drums and Harrison Whitford on guitar, who both dressed like Secret Service agents, Bridgers commanded through three songs from her new sophomore album Punisher. After reminiscing on her trip to Japan with "Kyoto" and ruminating on a doomed love on "Moon Song," the 26-year-old indie rock musician signaled doomsday.

"Hope everyone's enjoying their apocalypse," she greeted before kicking right into "I Know the End." And the end of her stripped-down performance peeled back the effects of her White House green screen and ushered in an eardrum-shattering chorus of fans who virtually came together from their cars, bedrooms and trampolines for a primal scream that couldn't signal the year 2020 any better.
